Undergraduate Students:
Undergraduate students interested in research have different opportunities at experential learning.
- Volunteer or register for BCMB 200, a 1-hr course credit for a semester, to work on an ongoing project in the lab.
- Eligible Federal Wok-Study program students may apply for research experience through the program.
- After a trial period of a semester, if mutually agreed, students may stay on longer in the lab.
- Please enquire about funding opportunities for internships may be available through OUR and Dr. Krishnan’s grants.
Students (particularly Freshmen and Sophomores) interested in basic biological research or applying computational/coding skills to solve biological problems are encouraged to apply. Previous majors have included BCMB, neuroscience, and chemical & biomolecular engineering.

Graduate Students
Talented undergraduate students interested in conducting doctoral studies with Dr. Krishnan are encouraged to contact her. Dr. Krishnan is interested in working with the student in preparing and applying for external funding, such as with NSF GRFP.
Graduate students may rotate in the lab after they are admitted to the Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology program or Genome Science and Technology program
Students interested in learning and taking integrative approaches to Neuroscience, from molecules to behavior, are encouraged to consider rotations in the Krishnan Lab.
